The fight against lice is back every year in schools. It bothers, it itches… we don't know how to get rid of it! 🤯 If the brushes are exchanged at home, it can quickly turn into a nightmare! Yes, it's not a very glamorous subject but these tips will be very useful, especially when you have little bits at home. Rest assured, natural solutions exist.😉
Here are our tips for getting lice out of your hairbrushes :
Start by removing all the hair from your brush and then wash it well. You can find all the steps to properly wash your brush in a dedicated article. 💦
👉 First tip: containment
Simple and effective: Place your brush in a closed plastic bag, leave it for at least 48 hours or place it in the freezer for 3 hours (lice hate the cold). Following this step, thoroughly clean the pins of any residue. Remember to let your brush thaw before using it again to avoid damaging it.
👉 Second tip: vegetable oils
You can use coconut oil, olive oil…, they are very effective because they have an asphyxiating power on lice.
Soak the pimples (only the pimples) in 2 to 3 cm of oil. Leave on for at least two hours before rinsing. For more efficiency, you can add a few drops of essential oils to vegetable oil.
The most effective is obviously lavender essential oil, but you can also use lemon or rosemary essential oil, which have insecticidal and antibacterial properties.
👉 Third tip: white vinegar
It is an excellent weapon to clean your brush and eliminate lice in an ecological way. However, it should be used with caution as it can sometimes irritate the scalp. Soak the pimples (only the pimples) in 2 to 3 cm, remove your brush and leave for about 2 hours. Rinse and wash your brush.
And There you go ! You now have all the tips to eradicate lice from your brush.
A little tip at the end, apply this simple rule: one hairbrush or one comb per person. Customize your brush so you don't confuse them!😉
