Saying Ciao to the lice

It's often at the start of the school year or after the holidays that lice make their big comeback... and trigger a general panic at home. But don't panic, with the right actions and the right tools, it's entirely possible to limit their appearance and eliminate them effectively—without damaging the scalp.

What are lice?

Lice are tiny parasites that primarily live on the scalp. They feed on blood, causing unpleasant itching. Contrary to popular belief, they are not a sign of poor hygiene! They are very easily transmitted, especially among children, via hats, cushions, coats, or group play.

The importance of acting quickly:

A louse can lay up to 10 nits (eggs) per day. Once established, they spread quickly. The longer you wait, the more difficult the infestation becomes to manage. That's why it's important to have a preventative routine and take the right actions at the first signs.

Prevention and natural treatment: the right actions to take

At the house ofBachca, we favor a gentle but effective approach. Some of our brushes are real allies for spotting lice, limiting their spread and soothing the scalp.

The Universal Detangling Brush(Made in France): this is the brush to have on hand every day. It allows you to detangle hair well without breaking it, which facilitates inspection and mechanical removal of nits and lice. In addition to an anti-lice treatment, it helps to evenly distribute care and gently brush sometimes sensitized hair.

The Detangling and Volume brush(Made in China): for thicker or tangle-prone hair, it provides effective detangling while respecting the scalp. Perfect for children who dread brushing! Its size also allows easy access to the roots, where lice nest.

Our anti-lice tips to adopt every day:

– Brush your children's hair every morning and evening, paying particular attention to the roots. This allows you to spot any unwanted hair quickly.

– Tie up long hair at school to limit contact.

– Wash hats, sheets and pillowcases regularly at 60°C.

– Use natural preventative care (lavender, tea tree, etc.) but avoid harsh products that can irritate the scalp.

– Clean the brushes thoroughly after each use with warm water and a little mild soap to avoid recontamination.

With vigilance and a good hair care routine, it is possible to prevent lice or get rid of them quickly, without traumatizing the hair or children.

At the house ofBachca, we believe in the power of simple gestures and well-designed accessories: our brushes are designed to take care of the whole family.
